In most Mediterranean countries I have visited, it is the cicadas making the most noise in the heat. Here, so far, it is the marsh frogs, whose constant singing reverberates through the valley.

In this section of the Kefalonia wildlife guide, I have included both resident frogs and both resident toads. I have not included the smooth newt, which is the only other resident amphibian, as I think I will struggle to get photos.
